In what might be a regular deal, I present to you my idea of some quick hits/small observations on topics. This edition is centered around things that would be interesting in a battle royal style matchup. What If …someone came to the ring with weapons. It’s no DQ so why not? Or bring back the Bunkhouse Stampede.. What If …in the middle of a Royal Rumble, everyone was eliminated and the ring was empty for 2 minutes. What if …someone wore weights to make them heavier or even old school armor like a knight. What If …the winner of the Royal Rumble was someone nobody expected who wins accidentally and spends a month hiding so he doesn’t lose his spot only to lose it to the real main eventer at a show just before Wrestlemania. What if …the wild card in the Casino Battle Royale was actually two competitors who said they were both promised that spot and fight about it and eliminate each other or someone locked them in a room, took the spot and the real wild card comes out and destroys them.

     I was looking at certain topics I thought about writing about and there are some that might not warrant a full story or just be more interesting to just hit bullet points.  One of the topics I looked at was women's wrestling. I am a huge fan and supporter of more women having more time. I may take one of these and turn them into a bigger post but for now I want to debut this idea of "What If...". WHAT IF ...AEW had a women's tag team division ? They have enough women on the roster to pull it off and personally I would have made the TBS belt a tag belt myself but could still do a tag team division. Between Dynamite, Rampage, Dark and Evolution they could definitely find time to do it and utilize their women's roster better. WHAT IF...the bigger wrestling companies dedicated one show to the women's division ? It's odd to me that in 2022, WWE, AEW, Impact, NWA or anyone else has decided to dedicate a weekly show to the women's division. I know some

  A big topic of discussion amongst wrestling fans is centered around AEW EVP and TNT champion Cody Rhodes. Lately is seems like he is seeing a John Cena like crowd reaction with many fans enjoying the opportunity to boo him. Is Cody a good guy (face) or a bad guy (heel)? To further this point, I have to also ask this, are Cody and AEW enjoying polarizing the fan base like this a teasing he could go either way? I tend to believe they like this and the additional attention he is getting because the crowd is reacting at least and at times loudly. And at the end of the day, Cena and Roman Reigns as well may have received mix crowd reactions but their merchandise sold well and the fans reacted every time. But let's suppose that they do want Cody to be that "white meat babyface" that will kiss the babies and be the "face" of the company. So in an earlier post ( https://fantasywrestlingwriter.blogspot.com/2021/12/if-i-started-my-own-wrestling.html?m=1  )  I talked about one idea I’ve had for years if I started my own wrestling company (P.L.O.W.- Professional League Of Wrestling). The idea was to start a league based on teams in various towns/cities facing off for post season individual awards and team     championships similar to the NFL, MLB or NBA with a touch of amateur wrestling meets as well.   So in this post, let’s suppose I had the funding to pull this off. What do I do next? So let’s suppose I have minimal funding and starting local in the Syracuse/CNY area since that’s where I live. I’d start with 8 teams in towns I thought would attract audiences and find venues like schools, parks or even fire departments or VFW halls nearby to work in. As WWE is prepared to offer a new pay per view in 2022 called Day 1, my creative brain can’t help but look at it with possibilities. Obviously I don’t have a magic 8-Ball and don’t know who’s healthy or how the card could change but this is simply me taking the card as it is now and going over who I would have win and a quick explanation as to why and where it would go next if it was me doing the writing. Also, these are not predictions and I will not complain if this is not the way things go...this is simply me having some fun by looking at the matches announced so far and what I would.   As a fantasy writer and fan who grew up watching wrestling, I’ve always wondered about writing for a wrestling company (or working backstage in some creative capacity). Sure for a year or two when I got out of the Army, I considered being a wrestler but I never had that level of athleticism that I’d want nor the desire to spend a lot of time in the gym. I did however start to wonder about working for a wrestling company in some capacity…or maybe starting my own organization. I always said though that if I or someone else wanted to start a company, you are crazy to want to compete with WWE or any established wrestling organization. You should want to bring something different to the table and be unique.
